The City of DeFuniak Springs will be joining cities throughout the state in celebrating Florida City Government Week, October 17 – 23, 2022.
On Monday, April 25, 2022, a Resolution was read by Mayor Pro-Tempore, Todd Bierbuam, on behalf of the City Council of DeFuniak Springs declaring May 2022 as National Preservation Month in the City of DeFuniak Springs.

Main Street DeFuniak Springs, in partnership with the City of DeFuniak Springs Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), will host nationally recognized speaker, Jeff Siegler, on Thursday, May 5, 2022. A widely known revitalization expert with ‘Revitalize or Die’, Siegler will present the importance of civic engagement and community pride in revitalization efforts and economy vitality.

Lake DeFuniak reopens for public swimming…
Main Street DeFuniak Springs, in partnership with the City of DeFuniak Springs, recently announced their 20 honorees for the inaugural Black History Month Banner Program. The program, announced at the end of 2021, asked for nominations of “African American individuals who have impacted the City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida.” The list of those recognized, available at https://mainstreetdfs.org, features various men and women with accolades in military service, education, community involvement, and professional achievements.
