Main Street DeFuniak Springs Unveils Black History Month Banner Program Honorees

Main Street DeFuniak Springs, in partnership with the City of DeFuniak Springs, recently announced their 20 honorees for the inaugural Black History Month Banner Program. The program, announced at the end of 2021, asked for nominations of “African American individuals who have impacted the City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida.” The list of those recognized, available at https://mainstreetdfs.org, features various men and women with accolades in military service, education, community involvement, and professional achievements.

Main Street DeFuniak Springs expands Music on Main to monthly events, hosts in tandem with Food Truck Friday

Main Street DeFuniak Springs, in partnership with Visit South Walton, announced today its 2022 Music on Main concert series, taking place at the Florida Chautauqua Theatre. The events, taking place on the second Friday of each month, will showcase a plethora of genres played by regional and local musicians ranging in size from duos to five-piece bands. Along with the concert experience, guests can enjoy dinner from area food trucks, as the event takes place alongside Main Street’s Food Truck Friday.

City Hosts Expo to Empower Citizens and Introduce New City Manager

DeFuniak Springs, FL…The City of DeFuniak Springs is hosting a City Services Expo comprised of information booths by various City departments on Thursday, October 21, 2021, 4pm-7pm at the Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood, 95 Circle Drive.  New City Manager Robert Thompson will welcome guests into the newly restored first floor and answer questions on how the City operates. Light refreshments will be served.
