“Porsches and Princesses” coming to Main Street DeFuniak Springs

Main Street DeFuniak Springs will hosts its “Porsches and Princesses”, sponsored by Clary-Glenn Funeral Homes, on Saturday, April 9, 2022, in Downtown DeFuniak Springs, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The car show and character meet and greet is produced in partnership with the North Florida Region Porsche Club of America. Free to attend, the event is a fundraiser for the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center(ECCAC).

Taking place outdoors on Baldwin Avenue, north of the City of DeFuniak Springs’ historic train depot and caboose, Porsches and Princesses aims to offer something for everyone in the family. North Florida Region Porsche Club of America members will line the north and south sides of a block of Baldwin Avenue with a variety of new and vintage Porsches. Not to be outdone, amongst the automobiles event attendees can pose for photo-ops with a variety of classic and modern princesses and fairytale characters.  

The event is a fundraiser for the ECCAC, a not-for-profit agency that, along with their partner agencies, provides services in Okaloosa and Walton Counties which: prevent child abuse, reduce the trauma of sexual and physical abuse, protect, and treat child abuse victims and their families while holding offenders accountable restore the lives and futures of abused, neglected, and drug-endangered children and their families. 

Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring items from the ECCAC’s current and on-going needs lists including monetary donations, Walmart gift cards, diaper cream, diapers (sizes 4, 5, and 6), boys and girls pull-ups (sizes 3T, 4T, and 5T), boys’ and girls’ deodorant, travel hairbrushes, and small toiletry bags. The ECCAC is also accepting new or gently used boys clothing (sizes 12mo to 8), boys’ and girls’ infant and toddler socks, and sports bras (all sizes).Those new to the area can set their GPS to 766 Baldwin Ave, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435, for directions. This event takes place in tandem with Main Street DeFuniak Springs’ Saturday Farmer’s Market, occurring one block west from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
