Sprint Triathlon in DeFuniak Springs

            Contestants and spectators will enjoy the swim in the perfectly round, crystal-clear lake in the center of town. The bicycle portion is in the rolling timber and farm land east from town into the Eucheeanna Valley.  Finally, the running course is set within the historic district that contains many formal and informal architectural styles from the Chautauqua era (circa 1900).

            Following the triathlon, the City of DeFuniak Springs will host “Lake Fest,” an annual water festival with events and vendors centered around Lake DeFuniak. Within walking distance, the city’s historic “Main Street” has excellent restaurants and retail spaces.  A Farmer’s Market will be in full swing.  For those wishing to learn more about the city, a self-guided walking tour of the Chautauqua Campus, which begins at the Visitor’s Center, is available.
