Main Street DeFuniak Springs will host its inaugural Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 2, 2021. The non-profit organization has planned a day of outdoor events including a Run/SUP around Lake DeFuniak, the Oktoberfest beer festival (not kid-friendly), and an evening of live music.
Stop by and have coffee and donuts with casually meet and talk with your city council members. Event is free and open to the public. This event is one of many during Florida's City Government Week observance in DeFuniak Springs.

The City of DeFuniak Springs will hold a ceremony to name an alley in honor of Benjamin “Ben” R. Woodham, the late son of Gary Woodham, owner of the DeFuniak Herald Beach Breeze Newspaper, and Cindy Woodham, owner of the Nook & Cranny consignment shop. The ceremony will take place on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at the alley behind the Herald print operations building located at 25 8th Street, DeFuniak Springs.
