National Preservation Month Spotlight

DeFuniak Springs Landmarks is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation endowed by Diane Pickett in 2018. Its mission is to preserve and protect the architectural integrity of homes within the historic districts of DeFuniak Springs. The Foundation recently received a $200,000 grant from the Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant Program of the National Park Service to assist 3-5 local homeowners with exterior repairs to eligible historic homes. A competition was held and renovations of the first two homes will begin in September with the remaining three to be done in 2023.
