Main Street DeFuniak Springs Partners with BancorpSouth to host free Small Business Seminars

DeFuniak Springs, Florida • July 13, 2021 — Main Street DeFuniak Springs and BancorpSouth have partnered to host a series of free seminars geared towards small businesses. The first, titled Business Basics, will be hosted on Thursday, July 29, 2021, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the historic Florida Chautauqua Theatre, located at 840 Baldwin Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida, 32435. The event is free to attend and includes complimentary breakfast catered by Perla Baking Co.

Representatives from Main Street DeFuniak Springs, BancorpSouth, Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of West Florida and the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce will be presenting on relevant topics to small businesses including community support, social media, advocacy, and financing.

Main Street DeFuniak Springs Executive Director, Chelsea Blaich, will welcome guests with a brief overview of their district and its efforts to assist current and incoming small businesses. SBDC Business Consultant, Terry Mauer, will discuss “How to Gain Customers with Social Media”. Walton Area Chamber of Commerce Community & Special Events Manager, Gabrielle Kilgore, will speak on “Advocating for Businesses in our Community”.  Lastly, Assistant Vice President/Relationship Manager of BancorpSouth Bank Florida, Daphne Bowen, will present on “Talking with Your Banker about Financing”.
