LakeFest 2021

LakeFest is an annual festival in DeFuniak Springs, Florida celebrating safe, recreational activities for the entire family on the water and banks of beautiful Lake DeFuniak, one of the world’s rare, naturally round spring-fed lakes.  The 2021 event is comprised of live entertainment, kayak/water sport races, outdoor evening movie, fish fry, hilarious cardboard boat races, water demonstrations, booth exhibits, water slides, bounce houses, kids activities, an historic district bicycle tour, and car show.  The 2021 program will include overnight primitive camping.

8am-8pm: CHECK-IN: Primitive (tent) camping registrations. Visitors Center, 1164 Circle Drive.

11am until Sellout:  Fish Fry.  Amphitheater.  Provided by VFW

7pm-10pm: Nighttime Kayak Activity.  Advanced registration required.  TBA.  Free.

8pm-10pm:  Entertainment at the Amphitheatre. Amphitheatre.  Sponsored by the DeFuniak Springs Special Events Committee

6:30am-8:00am: Coffee & Donuts for Overnight Campers – Camp Kayak

9am: Opening Ceremonies.  “Camp Jamboree”  (Amphitheater) 

9am-3:30pm:  EVENTS & ACTIVITIES by area:

• Butterfly Garden Tours, Library Garden
• Camp Kayak –  primitive camping
• Camp Kids – Kids Activities, waterslides
• Camp Jamboree – Amphitheater/Live Entertainment
• Disc Golf. Check-in at DeFunk Disco booth among the street vendors
• Trading Post – Food & Merchandise Vendors
• Command Post – Behind Camp Jamboree (Amphitheater)

9:15am:  Kayak Races  – Command Post (behind Amphitheater.)

10am-11:30am:  Big Fun OE Race.  Camp Kayak (boat ramp)

10am-2pm:  Antique Car Show and Public Voting.  Area in front of Train Depot.  Free.

11am-2pm: Lucky Duck Hunt on the Water.  In the Water of Lake DeFuniak

Noon: Cardboard Boat Races.  Boat ramp next to Hall of Brotherhood.

1:30pm – 2pm:  LIVE ENTERTAINMENT:  Walton County Community Band.

8:00 pm-10:00pm: Nighttime Disc Golf – Chipley Park. Specific Location TBA.
