Main Street DeFuniak Springs joins markets across the country in celebrating National Farmer’s Market Week from August 7-13, 2022. Along with its regularly scheduled Farmer’s Market taking place on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the non-profit organization will host its Culmination Celebration from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The special event will include music by Christon Birge and Katie Spillman, along with free face painting by Uniquely Clever thanks to Merrifield & Pilcher Realty.

In the midst of a global pandemic, farmers markets — like all other small businesses — have innovated to continue operations for the farmers and communities that depend on them. Farmers markets foster direct relationships between community members and farmers which can work to create a more fair and sustainable food system.
